Natl Poetry Month, Day 22, Deep Autumn

Deep Autumn

Squirrels forage acorns through fallen leaves,
Greenery of trees and bush change to rustic patterns
North winds cascade crisp cooling air amongst clear blue sky

As Mother Earth begins her departure
Leaves die and the trees barren
Awaiting the blanket from Father Winter,
And eternal sleep
